All is well until a real-life Super Villain steps out of the shadows and declares Squirrel Girl his archenemy. Can Doreen balance being a teenager and a Super Hero? Or will she go.

There are a lot of hilarious and cute middle grade books out there. Doreen Green is hilarious, sweet, kind, and definitely leaps before she looks.

This book is filled with humour, but also some serious topics like responsibility, bullying both in person and online , friendship, relationships with parents, friends moving away, starting at a new school.

The solo series initially debuted in January and ran for 8 issues, and was rebooted in October as part of Marvel's All-New, All-Different Marvel branding. The initial and reboot series are written by Ryan North. Art was by Erica Henderson from the start of the publication until issue 31, with Derek Charm taking over as artist for subsequent issues. Marvel registered a trademark for Squirrel Girl in July , leading to speculation that the character would appear in a future film or television series, such as Agents of S. Starting in May , the Secret Wars crossover storyline affected a number of Marvel comics and character.
